Road and Bridge Papers, 1749-2008.

Description: The Clerk of Courts Office keeps papers recording the construction, repair, and vacating of county roads and bridges. Road papers are organized chronologically.

Content: The papers include petitions, reports of viewers, and final decision of the court. May also give the name or number of the road (in later papers), landowners, landmarks, and survey.

Index to Road Dockets, 1749-1933.

Content: Organized by township. Lists session, year, description of road, docket and page.

**Please note** When searching road papers, it is necessary to be familiar with property owners names at the time the road was created. The archives will not answer mail requests for road records without a docket and page reference.
