Road and Bridge Dockets


Road Dockets #16 to #36, 1791 to 1964.

Description: Dockets kept for recording reports of juries on roads and bridges. May also include reports on bridge repairs and inspections and road vacations and widening.

Content:Includes petitions, reports of viewers, and final decision of the court. May also give the name or number of the road (in later dockets), landowners, and landmarks.

Note: Road entries from 1749 to 1791 are recorded in Quarter Sessions Dockets.

**Please note** When searching road papers, it is necessary to be familiar with property owners names at the time the road was created. The archives will not answer mail requests for road records without a docket and page reference.
